Some winter pictures of a fun-loving family! These four actually plan ahead to a few crazy poses, so they’re ready to go in front of the camera! We started with a few images that probably made their Christmas card, and then had some great laughs in between the individual portraits and group shots. I love this location, and was so glad it worked out to get their annual family pictures taken there.

This was the exciting day where these two would become Mr. and Mrs. Harris! I was excited to be able to do their wedding portraits in between the ceremony and reception! On the way up to their wedding, my assistant (and awesome niece Lydia) stopped to buy a bunch of umbrella’s just in case it kept pouring during pictures. And we arrived right at the church as they walked out from their ceremony, as married!! (they had other friends photographing the beginning and ending of their exciting day) We went right into action, taking the family formal pictures, and then headed out to a beautiful spot, where they newlywed’s will actually be living for the first few months. The rain let up while we took these pictures (thank-You God!) so no need for those umbrellas, but I did use one to try to shield the bride from the wind! All the bridal party were so great despite being in the freezing cold! They’d take turns inside the shed nearby while waiting for their turn, but the dear bride and groom – Nathan and Emma, had to brave the it almost the entire time! And they continued to laugh together, like they always do, making it such a fun time! I love these two, and can’t wait to see how God will use them now that they are one. Congratulations you guys!

Elizabeth is a long time friend of my family – and a very gracious and classy woman. She needed some headshots for a musical endeavor she was pursuing, and asked if I’d take them! We met in London – at the Delta Armory Hotel, where we took these pictures of her and the grand piano they have in their lobby. I had to use my flash for these as it was pretty dark in that area, and nearing the evening with no window’s close by. And in spite of my flash batteries dying out by the end, I think we got some lovely pictures of this dear woman.

I got an e-mail from Hilda – mom of this good-looking family, from out in Alberta asking about getting their pictures taken. Of course I was interested in meeting them as we share the “west connection” – I grew up only about an hour from where they are from! But why would they pick Ontario to get pictures done? 🙂 Turns out that they had a family reunion to attend and would have all their children in one place while they were out in the Norwich area. And as any mom of a large family knows, when they are all together, get those pictures. 🙂 We had such a great time all together, getting a whole bunch of different poses and combinations of the family. One of the older daughters is engaged, so I had to get a few “engagement” pictures in there with her guy, lots of individuals of everyone, as well as a few of the youngest two (the cute grandchildren) with either their doting aunties or Oma. I was pretty impressed how they coordinated together – without shopping at the same time or anything. They just showed up, looking this good – to get this session done before heading off to the reunion to be with the extended family for the rest of the day. Everyone was so friendly -must be that good western blood! 🙂 – and I was thankful we could capture this family while they were all together!

Being 6 year old twins means: you have boundless energy, a lot of cuteness, a few missing teeth to show off,  and the ability to choose your favorite clothes! Meet Kalina and Niobe. We did this shoot to get some images that were more relaxed as their more formal school pictures turned out a bit stiffer than the girl’s actual personalities really are! We were able to spend time just running around, and playing to capture them as they really are – and I think the pictures turned out great of each of them. And since mom was right there, I had to grab a quick candid one of just the three – as moms don’t often get the chance to just “be” in the shot with their kiddo’s!

This little man came to me to get some holiday pictures taken. It was his first Christmas season, so we had to capture that sweet milestone for little Emmit. His mom brought the wrapped boxes and some extra ornaments to add to the decor, and it worked out lovely! He gave us his darling expressions, making us laugh while we kept the little man contained as he tried to crawl about. Happy first Christmas little Emmit!

I was able to do two shoots for this great family this fall, and this session was the second shoot – it was reshoot time! The first session was on a wet rainy day, and while we did capture some wonderful pictures, doing one in the dryer environment, with a bit more space to work with – was a bit more preferred! They were all up for it, and we took these fall images on a warm lovely day. Four grown children, three in-laws, and four grandchildren add much joy to Gary and Kathy’s lives. These pictures were all taken on their property, and I loved it! I miss being in the country, so when I get a chance to take pictures in the fields and woods, I always enjoy it. A neat way to kick off the  Thanksgiving weekend in October – taking family pictures together.

Last time I took this family’s pictures, their second daughter was only a baby! Now there is three little ones, and all growing so quickly.  Trevor and Alyssa are always so great to take pictures of, and are so relaxed with their three darlings – though Trevor liked to make sure that his hair part was on the proper viewing side of the camera! 🙂 We had some fun laughs together, and the little girls were cute giving me their sweet smiles.
